We’re living in an age where you have unlimited options in terms of dirt. Tubescreamers, klon(es), Rats, Big Muffs, Bluesbreakers, the circuits go on and on and yet we’re still chasing more options. Our goal with the Bright Lights OD was to introduce a pedal wasn’t currently available in the market, and we think we accomplished it. Maybe...I don't know.
If you look at some of the great amps/sounds, many of them come from the EF86 tube amp lineage. Old Vox’s had them, Matchless, and even some Zs as a matter of fact. We looked to recreate some of these iconic tones in a small stomp box.
The Bright Lights OD is an amazing drive that encapsulates all the marketing overdrive pedal jargon: dynamic, harmonically rich, touch sensitive, euphoria inducing! What does this all mean though? We are still trying to understand what this all means … but what we do know is that this pedal kicks some serious ass.
It works as an “always on” pedal as it livens up a dull signal. As a boost, it cuts through the mix and let’s you take center stage as the drama queen that we know all guitarists to be or inspire to be. As a drive pedal, it can lay on thick and meaty tones (think old Vox amps turned to 10). The bright cut switch allows you even more tonal landscapes to go from “dark” mode to “bright” mode.
If you’re currently bored of the drives that you’re using, or are thinking of just picking up a change of pace pedal be sure to check out our Bright Lights Overdrive.

Been playing for 15+ years. I have and use Keeley, spark, messner, and Moore clean boost/over drives to name a few. I play with a tele deluxe through a vox ac15c1. The bright lights I've been using for a few weeks now. This pedal has high class in my book as a medium overdrive or clean boost. Very matchless chimey clean tone break up and I'm in love with it. I opted for the soft switch which imho is well worth it. A lot of these pedals on the market suck mid and base tone out of your amp and this one does not. Adds to your tone beautifully. No regrets from me! Now I need to save up and try out a few other pedal monster pedals:) cheers

A very nice overdrive with a wide range of sounds. Its a little different than other overdrives that I have tried, which is nice considering many overdrive pedals sound the same. Does the tube on the edge of breakup quite well and has a nice shimmery high end too. Excellent pedal.

This pedal is absolutely fantastic, I got it customized with my bands logo and it looks stellar on my board. I play many genres of music, mostly metal. This pedal provides a very rich and vintage OD sound, I have used this in my live signal chain as well as when I am in the studio.
If you are a metal player looking for a great OD to run in front of distortion to tighten your bottom end or if you are a classic rock player looking to get some great old school overdrive, or even a jazz or spoken word artist, this pedal is almost assuredly right for you.
In the lower gain stages it offers a very rich full bodied sound, and as you crank it you maintain the fullness that is lost with many overdrive pedals. These guys are awesome to work with and I really appreciate the service and support that they provide with their amazing products!

What can I say? The pedal had killer packaging, and had a fantastic finish and feel.
The sound is even better! Its definitely not transparent, but I consider that a benefit. There's a small bump in the upper mids which gives your playing a bit more presence. The gain goes from a clean boost all the way to fuzzy distortion, with great clarity in complex chords for most of that range.I personally like leaving the switch in bright mode.
All in all this pedal is truth in advertising. It certainly sounds unique, which in the pedal market is no small feat. Like another reviewer said, get this one while it's still under the radar ;)

I'm quite impressed with this pedal but i must be honest : i ordered one by chance and mainly because i was curious about it (and tired of the tubescream-ish pedals).
And guess what : totally WORTH IT !
Really great tones, adds beautiful color to your sound and stacks to perfection with my PM Klone (awesome combo).

This pedal is a real keeper for me. I've been working it hard the last two weeks in rehearsals and at gigs. I wanted to really put it through its paces so I could give a better review of its capabilities.
So far my thoughts are as follows:
It has great touch sensitivity, and cleans up well with volume control.
It has a wide range of usable sounds. This is not a pedal that has a "sweet spot" in the drive section. It has many usable sounds through nearly the entire range of the drive knob. The tone knob will also add extra grit as it passes about 12 o'clock.
I haven't found myself using the bright/dark switch other than just testing out how it sounds. My LP style guitar with PAF clones is dark enough in the bright mode and my strat is super chimey/bell-like and I have almost zero desire to ever darken that. Not sure if it's an alteration of the tone stack or phase cancellation. It works, it does what it's supposed to do, but I find the tone knob to have plenty of range for all the tones I am looking for.
As I mentioned before, this pedal has a huge range of usable tones almost all the way through the gain stage. It can be used to add just the tiniest of hair to your rhythm playing, or cranked to enter the gates of fuzz territory. I've used it for country-western, 70's funk, and 60's rock. In each application I found it not only sounded great, but sounded great in live mix.
TL;DR I really like this pedal a lot.
Couple things I forgot to mention;
This is NOT a transparent overdrive. It adds beautiful color to your tone. This is intentional, look somewhere else for a transparent overdrive.
It is buffered. If you are a "I only use true-bypass" type of person(why!? Buffers can be great!), you will maybe want to put this in a bypass loop.

Just got one in the mail, played it, etc etc, my AC15 sounds even better. Gives me that perfect dirty chime I seek, and the bright and dark switch is very useful. It's a really pretty looking pedal too. I can tell this one is going to be darling real soon if people smarten up and try them out.
