The Whale Boost
Product Description
Based on a tried-and-true mosfet circuit, this boost takes two identical mosfet circuits in series to create a truly transparent drive/boost in one. Equipped with a gain and master volume control, you can set this boost as a clean chimey boost for added volume, use it to enhance your overdriven signal, or use it as an always-on pedal. It's a whale of a good time!

Amazing. Might be one pf the best pedals on my board. Best way to describe it is grab a keeley katana boost and add the drive circuit from a ts808 and there ya go. Its amazing. Its a clean boost with a bite. Inbetween a klon amd a tube screamer. Boost it with the klon klone and youve got some 78%cream for your coffee

Crystal clear preamp that can really drive a tube amp! Well worth the money and a great addition to my pedal board!

Improves Tone & Stacks Very Well

Was very impressed with how great this clean boost is! I placed it 2nd on my chain after my tuner and before my fuzz and Timmy; overall, this pedal improved the tone of an already awesome Vox Ac15. It rounded up the clean sound very nicely while taking the volume up quite high before breaking up. When turning up the gain and lowering some volume, the pedal produced a nice amount of gain that pushed my fuzz to some perfect sustaining sweet spot for solos, and gave a more aggressive push to a very transparent Timmy. I know use this as an always on pedal without too much added noise (none at all with isolated power). Extremely satisfied with my purchase, thanks guys!

Whenever I began building my pedal board, a clean boost was on my "To Get" list. Unlike every other pedal that I bought, I did no research or review reading in purchasing my boost. I just bought it.
In reviewing other effects pedals, I stumbled across Pedal Monster's Whale Boost. I was attracted to the aesthetics of the pedal and bought it solely because it would bring color to my board. Man, did I luck up! I instantly fell in love with my boost. It's by far the most dynamic pedal I own, and it's SO transparent. When rolling the gain back and the volume up, I get that slight bit of break up that is perfect. However, upon increasing the gain, this pedal transforms into a fuzz monster!
The placement of the knobs make for easy access when I want to change the color of the pedal with my foot while playing. Also, I really love how well this boost stacks with my other overdrives. It pushes them over the edge and takes it up to another level!
I guess if I had to find something to complain about, it would be the size of the volume knob. If it was bigger, then it would be easier to control with your foot; but honestly, if it was bigger, I'd probably complain and say it needed to be smaller...and that's about it.
All in all, I love my Whale Boost and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. It's transparent, stacks well with other pedals, it's dynamic, and aesthetically pleasing. All around great pedal, and Pedal Monsters sent me Jolly Ranchers in the box with my boost. You've won me over, fellas.
